Doctor I am a surgeon
I started taking it for dysmenorrhea
Then I underwent sleeve surgery and I
Took it for pain releif
Started increasing dosage from 2 months mad now taking 6 -7 caps per day
If I don take it I feel weak disoriented dizzy unable to work or operate
Pls help me
Can I take something to overcome this
I also have difficulty in sleeping without taking this.
I feel miserable cos of my dependence on this capsule
I am going to get married soon

Hi dear.Thanks for sharing the information.
Spasmo is being banned in XXXXXXX since it contains propoxyphene which is a narcotic analgesic and is liable for abuse.
You would agree with me that the narcotics should be gradually tapered to avoid withdrawal symptoms and hence I were to suggest the same.I were to taper down gradually by 1 tablet every week(or 10 days) and substitute with Tablet Cyclopam which contains the same composition without propoxyphene.
Further Cyclopam needs to be gradually reduced to three times daily so that this can be continued depending on the need.
Nothing to panic get well soon.

So now if I'm taking 6 capsules I should take only 5 next week? And so on?

Since propoxyphene also causes weight loss and loss of appetite(side effect) both shall be restored to normal while you wean from the drug.
I were to suspect anxiety as one of the reasons for lack of sleep.I would recommend stress relaxation techniques like yoga, exercise, meditation to improve your sleep hygiene.As a doctor you will agree with me that excess stress results in lack of sleep and needs a check.
