default
Posted on Fri, 27 Feb 2015
Question: I have many symptoms of hypothyroidism but my blood tests come back normal - tsh 2.32, t4 free - 1.2 and t3 free 3.5. I have no other medical issues. Is there another test my doctor can perform that could show if my thyroid is functioning correctly? How can I convince my doctor to do this test if there is one?

symptoms (memory, irritability, sensitivity to cold, dryness of skin, weight gain, high cholesterol)

Brief Answer:
Antibody tests

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted yourconcern.
I do agree with you that, Thyroid blood tests are perfectly normal. T be XXXXXXX with you, there is no need to do anymore blood tests . However, you may do an antibody test ( Anti TPO and Anti Tg) to know your chances of getting hypothyroidism in the future. This is more important if you have a family history of thyroid illness
