How To Use Smuth Ointment?
Question: Dear Dr, I have SMUTH ointment and would like to know the method of applying the same in the toilet way with help of a condom like material supplied. I have problem of constipation. Pl advice and help me. Thanks & Regards.

I understand your concern.
Smuth itself contains steroid hydrocortisone, if you have been already struggling with steroid overdose for a very long time I strongly suggest you not to use that, though it is an low dose applied over mucosa and skin I still will suggest you against it. Mostly if there is perianal pain simple lignocaine ointment 2% applied with applicator provided before 15 minutes before defecations is good enough.
Also taking a stool softner like isapgula husk at night which is easily available over the counter with lot of water and high fibre diet intake will help you to regularize your bowel movements.
The applicators provided with these ointment needs to be gently inserted into anal canal and the tube needs to be gently squeezed as you come out.
