How To Wean Off Suboxone?

Question: I am currently detoxing from Suboxone. I have it down to 1/4 of a 8/2 Strip of Suboxone film a day. Can I stop cold turkey now or will the w/d symptoms still be too much for me?

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

You are taking 1/4 of 8mg buprenorphine and 2 mg naloxone means 8-2 suboxone sublingual film daily for detoxification. You are taking 2 mg of buprenorphine daily. As such stopping cold turkey at this dose likely going to cause withdrawal symptoms. Severity of the symptoms depends on duration of drug use.

- What was initial dose and how did you decrease dose up to current level (means how gradually)?
