Infant Developed Nappy Rash On Inner Thighs. What Care Should Be Taken?
Thanks for posting your query .
A baby left in a dirty nappy for too long is more likely to develop nappy rash. However, it can also strike the bottoms of babies with particularly sensitive skin, even if they have frequent fresh nappies.
You can apply any zinc based nappy rash cream ( ezinapi, rashfree etc) to your baby's nappy rash yourself. The rash should clear up after three or four days and is unlikely to bother your baby much.
Here’s how you can deal with your baby’s nappy rash:
1.Keep your baby clean and dry by changing her nappy frequently. Try to do it as soon as possible after he's wet or filled his nappy.
2.Clean your baby's bottom using fragrance-free and alcohol-free baby wipes or a mild, moisturising soap. Rinse your baby's bottom in plain water and XXXXXXX the skin dry.
3.Give your baby as much nappy-free time as possible to allow the air to aid healing.
4.Apply a thin layer of barrier cream or ointment before putting on a clean nappy. To make it dry you can dab a little baby powder on it .The cream is a protective layer between your baby's skin and any wetness.
In case the rash persists or worsens you need to get it evaluated by his pediatrician for further management by antibiotic ointments if needed.
As of now just keep the region open and dry and apply an ointment after each dirty nappy change.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing your child good health.
