Is 2000 IU Enough To Trigger Ovulation?

Question: I am currently in the 2ww post my IUI that happened last week. Mine was a cycle on HMG injections. I had one follicle of size 22 mm when the trigger was given. My IUI was 18 hours post the trigger. My E2 was 1700 on the day of trigger and LH was 10. I have 2 questions -
1. For the trigger, the doctor only gave me 2000 IU of HCG and when I asked her if it was sufficient, she told me that it is good enough. I have been reading on the internet that 10000 IU is the standard. Will this affect my egg maturation?
2. My IUI (single) was done 18 hours post the trigger. Is this too early?
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I read your query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:
1) Yes. 2000 IU is enough to trigger the ovulation. 10000 IU is little extra dose.
2) Timing of IUI should be between 30 to 40 hours after hCG injection as ovulation is expected to occur around 36 hours after injection.
3) Your IUI was bit early. But sperms to survive for about 24 hours and hence not bad as sperms would have been alive when ovulation occurred.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thank you for your reply.
Just in case this cycle doesnt work for me, should I discuss the timing of trigger and the IUI with the doctor to better my chances for the next time?
Also, my doctor said that washed sperm can live for 72 hours, but again I read some where that it loses its potency after 24 hours. What is your opinion regarding the same?
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
1) You are right. Discuss the timing of trigger with your doctor next time.
2) Though it can remain till 72 hours , sperms are best active for 24 hours.
