Is 80 Mg Of Pantoprazole A Safe Dosage?

Question: I am currently taking 80 mg of pantroprazole daily to keep my acid reflux under control. Is this too much? When i tried 40 mg daily i got acid reflux a week later.

As per your query yes 80mg per day is not a high dose.Pantoprazole has been tried at doses as high as 240mg/day safely in patients.
So if your body is responding good to 80 mg dose you can continue taking it.

Though not asked yet if you combine domperidon (prokinetic drug) 30mg once daily even with 40 mg pantoprazole results would be much better then 80 mg pantoprazole alone.

As of now continue with 80mg doses(for maximum benifit it should be taken empty stomach with just a sip of water and you should not eat anything for next 30 minutes).
