Brief Answer:
Your ALT value is acceptable

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) are liver enzymes and they are tested to know the liver function and abnormalities involving organs in which it is found. It is used to know liver function in various disease conditions and when a person is being treated with some medicines.

2. The normal range of AST is between 15 to 37 units per liter and ALT between 16 to 63 units per liter.

3. It is said to be significantly increased only if the values are over 2 to 3 times the normal. Your values do not necessarily show any problem. If ALT is 57 then it can be accepted as upper limit of normal and there is no serious problem.

In conclusion torvason-f can be continued if you are not having any other problems like swelling in limbs or pain in muscle. Please follow up with your cardiologist regularly.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
