Is Azithromycin Better Than Cipro?
Brief Answer:
depends
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
For bacterial bronchitis it is better to use Ciprofloxacin which is more effective and there is less resistency. Also Amoxicilin or Claritromicin may be used.
If you have COPD or Pneumonia then Azytromicin should be added.
Also, many bronchitis are viral so antibiotic may not work at all.
If you have fever, productive cough then it is more likely bacterial.
Both these antibiotics dont have some serious side effects on cardiovascular system so your heart disease and hypertension should not be problem.
Azitromicin may have some digestion and skin side effects mostly.
Wish you good health. Feel free to ask further questions.
