Is BP Value Of 117/54/65 A Cause For Concern?

Question: I am a 79 yr old male. I had a Aortic valve implant in 2006 I go for ck up's every 4 mo I feel great, 1st thing this morning (after coffee) my blood pressure was 117/54/65p is that 2nd # ok? I am very active & workout 1 hr & 1/4 - 6 days a wk at a gym,
also golf 3 days a week (weather permitting) my stamina is great. I take 12mg metoprola, aspirin 81mg & 40 mg simvastatin at night thank you!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your actual diastolic blood pressure values are a little low, but as long as you do not have any complaints, it is not a matter to be concerned.

If your aortic valve has been normal in your repeated cardiac ultrasounds, there is nothing to worry about.

I would recommend you continue being active and take plenty of fluids to remain well hydrated, especially during physical activity (which can lead to increased sweating and low blood pressure).
