Is BUN:creatinine Ratio Of 28 A Cause For Concern?

Question: Hi! If my BUN / creatinine ratio is 28, Bilirubin is .2 and ESR is 4. Should i be concerned? I am 37 year old female. Thanks.
Brief Answer:
BUN: creatinine ratio of 28 is due to low perfusion of kidneys.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
The bilirubin level og 0.2 mg/dL is within normal biological interval.
ESR of 4 is also within biological interval.
A BUN: creatinine ration is normally between 10-20.
Level above 20 can be due to low perfusion of the kidneys.
Low perfusion can result from dehydration, shock, renal artery hypertension etc.
You need to consult your referring doctor with report for clinical correlation.
Thanks and take care

As requested - i had cerebral venous sinus thrombosis in January 2015 and was on warfarin. Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Lupus anticoagulant parameters within range,DRVVT may be high in non-fast
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
A history of cerebral venous thrombosis raises the possibility of antiphospholipid syndrome thus lupus anticoagulant screen is performed.
All the parameters for lupus anticoagulant are within normal range.
A slightly raised DRVVT may be due to non-fasting state as stated in your report.
Thanks and take care
