Biotin is usually safe, but can affect some medici
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern. Tacrolimus (Prograf), an anti-rejection medication, can cause hair loss.
If you are on it, you should not alter the dose of tacrolimus.
Biotin is a B vitamin. The daily requirement is 30 mcg. It usually does not cause any interaction with most medicines. Taking biotin along with some medications that are changed by the liver might increase the effects and side effects of some medications.
Let me know the medicines you are on and I would be able to advise better.
Take care,
Dr Noble Zachariah
