Question: MY SON IS SIX MONTHS OLD.HE WAS SUFFERING BREATHLESSNESS.DOCTOR HAS GIVEN BUDSONIDE200 INHALER TWICE A DAY AND ADVISED TO CONTINUE IT FOR THREE MONTHS OR MORE IF NECESSARY.HE HAS ALSO PRESCRIBED SYRUP LAVETA-M FOR ONE MONTH. I AM LITTLE BIT WORRIED ABOUT THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THOSE MEDICINES.PLEASE HELP ME

THE PATIENT'S BLOOD REPORT SHOWS HIS HAEMOGLOBENE IS 8.6 WHEN HE WAS 2.5 MONTHS OLD. HE TAKES DROP ARBIVIT 3,ZINCOVIT AND TONOFERON REGULARLY.WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?

Don't worry. There are no significant side effects if taken under medical supervision.
The syrup you are giving too is safe . It is to decrease body's allergic response.

Continue for 3 to 6 months .
There are no significant side effects even after many years of use in various studies.
They will not become addicted or dependent.
There is nothing addictive like cocaine in that.

6 to 8 months :
Boiled vegetables, fruits, cerelac, rice gruel, dhal. ,
All these two or three times a day plus breast feeding
Add oil to each feed
Continue breast or formula feeds
Timing is not important .

After 8 months introduce soft home foods like idli, kichdi, suji etc. Gradually increase other foods and decrease breast or formula milk.
Cows milk after one year.
