
Is Clonidine Advisable While On Amlodipine And Benazepril?

Question: I currently am taking 5 mg Amlodipine, 40 mg Benazepril and 50 mg Atenolol twice daily for hypertension. Would taking 0.1 mg Clonidine once daily, in addition to the other medications, be ill-advised?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that this dose of clonidine is too low.
From the other hand, you are actually taking three antihypertensive drugs.
Coming to this point, I would not recommend adding a new antihypertensive drug to your current therapy.
I would just recommend raising the dose of amlodipine to 10mg if your blood pressure values are still not under control (above 140/90mm Hg values).
