Is Doxycycline Advisable For A Person With Sulphur And Ibuprofen Allergy?
I have had some red bumps on my legs where I think I shaved my legs. they have been there about 3 weeks now and I only just started using antiseptic and anti bacterial soap on them for the last three days. the doctor said it looks like folliculitis. the antiseptic seems to work but then when I take my shower and come out of the shower, my feet are all red and bumpy again
Doxycycline it is not a sulfur drug, nor a penicillin or ibuprofen class.

Hello dear,
Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
You can use Doxycylcine without problems because it does not interact with any of the medicines that you mentioned that you are allergic from. Unless you are allergic to it anyway, if you haven't used it before.
I agree with your doctor's opinion that what you are describing may be folliculitis. Use the antibacterial soap and the antiseptic for at least 2 weeks, because it will stop for new lesions to appear but will not remove the ones you already have there...so needs more time for you to see the effect. And also I agree with starting to use Doxycycline if those do not work.
Hope this is helpful.

As I have only been using the antiseptic and anti bacterial soap for three days and you recommend 2 weeks, should I keep using these and wait before starting the tablets or start the tablets anyway and continue using the antiseptic and anti bacterial soap
Yes to both your questions
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow-up question.
Yes, you can use the antibacterial soap and the antiseptic for some more time and at least 2 weeks. If you see that it is getting worse meanwhile, then start using the Doxacycline.
And yes it is ok to use the moisturizing cream after applying the antiseptic, so it be kept soft.
Let me know if not better. I will be happy to advise accordingly.
