![default](/r/images/default.png)
Since I suffered brain haemorrhage in year 2012 March .
When I was suggested for blood test my ESR wer 37.
After MRI of my spine doctors came to know about Pott's Spine and was suggested for complete rest and even I am on rest for about 1 and a half month.sir my point was how much time should I take rest and what more precautions should I take.and sir should I wear a L S BELT WHILE I WALK ?
Rest for atleast 3 months
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for the query.
I understand that it is very cumbersome for you to take rest for so long.
But pott's spine takes a lot of time to heal as the infection is embedded inside the bone and the disc.
You should be taking complete bed rest for 3 months minimum. You should use LS belt while ambulating. Avoid travelling or walking for long distances.
At this stage, you should only get up from the bed for having food and using toilet.
Do not ambulate without using the belt.
Get blood investigations and xrays done every monthly to assess the recovery process.
Most important is do not miss even a single dose of the medicines that you have been prescribed.
Liver functions are affected by these medicines and liver function tests have to be done regularly to keep a watch.
Once the abscess is gone ( confirmed on MRI ), then you can start doing your routine work.
Tablets need to be taken for minimum 9 months to 1 year, depending upon the recovery.
If you have any other questions, feel free to consult me anytime.
Thank you.
