Is FBS Value Of 127 A Cause For Concern?

Question: i went to sleep at 8 last night, and slept til 5 am. so I fasted for 9 hours , and as soon as I woke up at 5, I took my blood sugar which was 127. isnt that pretty high for fasting?
Brief Answer:
YES, it is high.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
Yes, the blood sugar is high. Two measurments of fasting blood sugar over 126 fasting are criteria for Diabetes diagnosis.
You should check it twice, 2 hours after eating also and check the HbA1c level too.
Will be a pleasure to help you further after the above results.

thank you so much for your reply it actually vlarified a lot. I have had to start measuring my own blood sugar because the doctors just throw blood tests on me randomly when in the office and have never once asked me to fast, so mu blood sugar is always normal on those tests. The hbA1c test you spoke of, os that a yest that can only be done in a doctors office or do they sell self test kits? Thank you again for your response and sharing your knowledge and may god bless you for helping those who really need it.
