Is Glucosamine HCL An Effective Supplement For Bone Health?
Is this an effective supplement or are we wasting our time & money?
There is no proven role of these medicines
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Glucosamine HCL and MSM are not effective in arthritis at all. Even if there is any role it is as very early age say 30 to 40 when joints starts to have cartilage softening. That time oral supplementation may cause decrease in pain but there is no proof that these medicines helps in cartilage regenerations.
At your age I would suggest you to take calcium and vitamin D 3 to strengthen your bones. Also I would suggest you to take care of osteoporosis. Teriparatide can help in that. Stop taking Glucosamine and MSM. They do not have any proven effect in knee arthritis at 60 or above.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
