Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
dear doctor my mother is 80 and has weak vertebrate bones as shown in MRI. One doctor has suggested forteo 2.5 which is unaffordable and difficult to be injected everyday. she is diabetic and recently had chicken guinea .echo test says her heart as 40% efficient.can bone viva be her solution?
It looks from your details that your mother is suffering from osteoporosis. If you can not afford forteo then you may also give her boniva 150mg once a month. This contain ibandronic acid and effective for post menopausal osteoporosis and for vertebral osteoporosis. Only difference between boniva and forteo is its intake method.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mukesh Tiwari, Orthopedic Surgeon
