Is HIV Infection Possible After Protected Intercourse?

Question: Hi my self XXXX I had sex with a prostitute using condom.while having sex in vagina I was holding my condom in my hand in the edge of the penis, so it does not slip off, but I had a one day old cut in my finger is there any chances that it may cause hiv or Std
Brief Answer:
Highly unlikely to get HIV
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query and do understand your concern.
Based on the fact that you had 'protected vaginal sex with a condom' this would put you in the 'low risk' designation.
The HIV virus is actually a very weak virus that dies immediately upon exposure to the air. If there were any HIV positive vaginal fluids on the outside of the condom they would have been exposed to the air and any HIV virus would be dead and unable to infect. HIV transmission must occur in a controlled environment without exposure to the air. You are unlikely to get HIV.
But there is risk of other STD s like herpes or hepatitis.
Hope this helps.

So when can I plan for HIV test
Brief Answer:
Kindly find the answer below
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
RNA tests — show a positive result based on the presence of the virus. These tests are more expensive than anitbody tests, so are not offered in as many places.
9-14 days after infection, there will be enough viral material for a positive result.
Antibody tests — give a positive result based on antibodies to HIV, not the virus itself. It takes your body up to 3 months to produce these antibodies at levels that can be detected by this test.
You have to see local doctor or lab to get information regarding this.
Hope this helps
