Question: Is single hiv 3rd generation test using CMIA method ( instrument vitros eci XXXXXXX and johnson) is 100% conclusive after 1 year of exposure? Result is negative with cut off value 0.08. Or I have to go for western blot or pcr?

Brief Answer:
your test is conclusive; no need to retest

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have read your question and I have understood your concern

The answer to your question is Yes, it is conclusive, all by itself.
A third generation Hiv screening test is based on detection of circulating anti-Hiv antibodies to Hiv. Except a few, most of the Hiv infected individuals will have detectable circulating antibodies within a month of Hiv infection and all i.e 100% will have circulating antibodies against Hiv by 12 weeks or 3 months. Therefore, a third generation test is conclusive at 12 weeks and beyond and that applies to you.

Brief Answer:
The test as well as Lab is very reliable

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

It is a very reliable lab. If in doubt you may repeat the same test from a different lab and that would confirm the result beyond any doubt.
