Is I-pill Effective In Preventing Pregnancy?
suggestion
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your response.
I think I can help you.
First, Ipill is supposed to be effective for 72 hours.
So ideally speaking, a second dose was not needed.
Since she has taken it, there should not be a significant side effect except it is possible that her cycles may be abnormal this time.
Besides, some other side effects like nausea, abdominal discomfort, headache, vertigo are possible.
As for pregnancy, unfortunately, there is no contraceptive that is 100%. So the risk will be there, despite the double dose. But it is a faint one. I pill is usually very effective and contraceptive failure is very low with it.
So I would suggest not to worry this time. Just watch for the menses.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible.
Feel free to ask any follow up query on any point that you feel needs clarification.
Best of luck, Dr Mittal
