Is Ibuprofen Effective At Treating Hip Pain?

Question: I have pain in my hip/thigh area. Started a couple of months ago and walking through it helped. It is becoming a bigger problem, getting up from a chair or bed, walking is no longer a cure. The last few days the pain is radiating down the front of my thigh. I take care of my 11month old grandson, 10 hours a day, carrying him and going upstairs are becoming very difficult. I take asprin 240mg from a stroke 3years ago. Should I try heat or ibuprofen ?

After reviewing your information, you probably have a strained muscle. You would need to avoid movements that provoke and/aggravate this pain. I will recommend Ibuprofen, 600mg every 8hours for at least 5days. If you have gastritis, please let me know as special measures might be needed before you continue with this drug. Het pads are encouraged and can be used alongside ibuprofen.
