Is OGCT Value Of 97 Mg/dl A Cause For Concern?

Its a screening test and is within normal limits.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mrs. XXXX,
Thanks for your question.
OGCT (Oral Glucose Challenge Test) is a screening test for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM).
1 hour value of 97 is within normal limit (It is well below cutoff value) ie. It indicate there is no requirement of 100gm OGTT (Oral Glucose Tolerance Test) for diagnosis of GDM in simple words it ruled out the possibility of GDM.
Cutoff value for the test is 140 it means 1 hour blood glucose more than 140 requires OGTT for confirmation of GDM.
A blood sugar value >140 mg/dl identifies approximately 80% of women with gestational diabetes (GDM), a cutoff of >130 mg/dl identifies 90% of women with GDM.
Hope I have answered your question.
I will be happy to answer your follow up question if any.
Regards,
Dr. Abhay Mali.
