Is PEP HIV Test Conclusive 92 Days Post Exposure?

Question: Hi Doctor,

I tested for HIV I, HIV II, Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C after 92 days of exposure and all test results in Non-Reactive/Negative.
My Incident happened on 30th Jun’15 & I took test on 01st Oct’15. Also I took PEP of 28 days in Jul’15 from 02nd To 29th Jul’15.

Can I conclude I am safe now and free from HIV Infection.

You are safe as you run the tests after 92 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. As you have done tests after 92 days you are almost safe.

What HIV tests you have done? Is it antigen or antibody test?
Antigen test are most sensitive during this period.
HIV Duo test which does both is desired test during this period.

You can relax now as you have done PEP as well as tests are negative. Better to go for HIV test again after 6 months to have an assurance again.
