Is Pacimol Drops Advisable For Fever In A 7 Month Old Child?
Paracetamol needs to be given in the proper dose. Give tepid sponging
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I am sorry to hear about your child.
The temperature definitely needs to be kept in control. Pacimol contains paracetamol needs to be given at a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose at a minimum interval of 3-4 hours. You can also give tepid sponging. If the temperature is still not controlled you may give Meftal P syrup (contains mefenamic acid) which is more effective than paracetamol in reducing temperature. But it is a prescription medicine and you would need to get it prescribed by your treating physician.
If the child is otherwise active and feeding well, you need not worry. But if the child becomes lethargic or stops feeding well, you would have to rush the child to a pediatrician.
I understand your concerns. Hope for the best possible outcome for your baby.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. The cold would take 5-7 days to subside. You need to give the medicines from time to time to bring down the temperature.

1.paracetamol phenylephrine hydrochloride & chlorphenramne maleate drop and
2.pacimol drops and
3. ambroxol, terbutaline & guaiphenesin syrup,
please tell me is this medicine are good for my baby
These are good medicines and safe too.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking back.
1. Medicines like Wikoryl that contain paracetamol phenylephrine hydrochloride & chlorphenramne maleate drop can be given. But I would prefer Paracetamol in isolation and whenever there is fever. All the three contents of Medicine 1 do not need to given for each episode of fever. You can give this twice a day and in case of further episodes of fever, give pacimol rather than this giving medicine.
2. Pacimol drops or any other brand of paracetamol is essential to be given if there is fever. Alternatively Meftal P can be used.
3. Ambroxol, terbutaline & guaiphenesin syrup acts as a mucolytic and can be given. It is good.
4. Steam inhalation acts as a good expectorant and can be given. Just sit with the child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapour will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. It will help in diluting the cough and would provide relief.
Hope that helps.
