Brief Answer:
Pepto Bismol is more likely than the Pepcid

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I can understand why this can be concerning.

The bismuth in Pepto Bismol turns the stool a grey or black color. It can do this for a few days after taking it. In fact, if you have some sputum in your throat, it can make that look brown-grey or black too.

I think it is much more likely that the stools are black from Pepto Bismol rather than from stomach bleeding or the Pepcid. Because it is pretty much expected the bismuth will do this. It does not cause any harm in making the stools black.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
