Is Prolomet XL Appropriate For High BP?
Question: My B.P. is around 140/86 for last 15 days, iam taking prolomet xl 25 a day, Iam 64, whether THE drug and dose is correct? If not than please suggest.

I have gone through your query. Your Blood pressure is in border range. Is it after medication? For diabetics the Bp should be maintained below 130/85. If your BP is 140/86 after taking metaprol xl 25 then then it is ok. You can continue the dosage for 1 month and if it doesnt drop then can increase the dose. Do you have any palpitations? If palpitations are present even after taking Metaprolol Xl 25 then if you were my patient i will increase the dosage.
