Is TSH Level Of 1.3 A Cause For Concern?
Question: Hi, I have been taking eltroxin 25mcg for one year. My last blood test eight weeks ago showed a TSH of 1.3, the lowest it has been. For the last week I have felt anxious and nervous and not feeling as well as I had been, I had been feeling great up to that. Could I be taking too much eltroxin now?
Brief Answer:
The TSH is normal:
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Levothyroxine 25 mcg is the lowest recommended dose.
TSH 1.3 is within the normal ranges and it should be at these levels for your age.
So, i would suggest to continue with the same dose and check the TSH after 6 months.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards.

That TSH was eight weeks ago. Is it possibe it has dropped further now? I have overactive symptoms.
My TSH was 3.5 in October 2016 and 1.3 in January 2017. Is it possible that it has reduced further now?

Brief Answer:
The dose is too low to cause overdosage:
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
The dose is low to cause hyperthyroidism in such a short time ( three months).
If, TSH has resulted normal and when there are no signs and symptoms of hypo/ hyperthyroidism the next control should be after 6 months.
If you insist to have symptoms of hyperthyroidism, even if the dose is low, you should check TSH to confirm it.
