Is Toradol A Narcotic?

default
Posted on Fri, 23 Jan 2015
Question: Is Toradol a narcotic? My 91 year old mother is in a lot of pain because of an L5 compression fracture but cannot take narcotics. She is using the Flector patch and Tylenol arthritis strength 650 mgs. three times daily but with little relief. Toradol helped once before (injection in the ER) and she didn't seem to have any other side effects like she does with narcotics. She needs something stronger at home.

Brief Answer:
Toradol is NSAID, it is not narcotic.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query

After going through your query I want to say that Toradol(ketorolac Tromethamine) is non steroidal anti inflammatory drug. It is not narcotics. Your mother can take it as she tolerated it well as it is not narcotic. You can discuss with your Doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
