Is Ursodeoxycholic Acid Effective In Managing Pain?

Question: Hello, Thank you for your response. It was very helpful. Is it possible to keep the question open? I will be going to my GI doctor next month as he has ordered the test to go over the results. Can I ask the doctor about Ursodeoxycholic acid? Last time when we spoke to the doctor he said less than 50% means surgery needed. I just have low to mild heaviness and sometimes it pains not always. So can we talk to the doctor about the medicine you have mentioned.

You have mentioned 46% as normal earlier and surgery may not be required. So are you saying now below 50% surgery should be required. How can I contact you in future.

For gallbladder without stones, less than 45% is considered abnormal.
And for gallbladder with stones, this is 50%.

In your case, it would be better to wait with surgery and try with Ursodeoxicoli acid and diet first.
