Is Valprol Advisable When Having Severe Activity Related Headaches?

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Jul 2015
Question: Hi Doc, I am suffering from activity related headaches. The activities which started my headaches 2 days ago was weight lifting, and then while having sex. My doc asked me to get a Brain MRI which turned out to be normal. He prescribed Valprol CR 500 mg, Sibellum 10 mg, Betacap 40 mg, and Naxdom 500 mg. I am still having headaches. Should I be taking all the above medicines? I saw on internet that Valprol CR is used for bipolar disorders, seizures, etc., but my symptoms are not like that. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Sounds like activity induced headache

Detailed Answer:
hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible exercise induced headache like you said.
unfortunately, I don't think your therapy is going to help you. I mean the medicines the Dr has added are for migraines.
I would have suggested to a patient if mine a combination of sibellium and naxdom. taking betacap 40 half hour prior to activities that trigger the headache may help.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
