Is Wikoryl The Right Medicine For Cold In Children?
Avoid any medications for mild cold and coughs
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but do not worry. I would recommend you to avoid any medications for mild cold as they are self limiting viral illnesses in most cases. They improve within a period of 2-4 weeks. If the symptoms are bothersome then use antihistamines without paracetamol such as Maxtra or Wikoryl AF instead of Wikoryl. This will help you to monitor fever if present. These drugs are safe if given at recommended dosages.
If fever spikes are present along with poor appetite and activity then go for laboratory tests i.e. CBC, ESR, CRP, Thoat swab culture and IgE to check for any associated bacterial infection or allergic tendency.
You may upload the reports for my reference.
Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care
