Posted on Tue, 11 Oct 2016
Question: Years ago I had a bout of bursitis, got a cortizone shot and was fine. So a few months ago it came back. Sorry in same elbow. Took another shot about 6 weeks ago. Its back again worse than ever. Someone told me it might be gout. Gout?? Isn't that in your feet?

Brief Answer:
Gout not likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Gout is less likely to affect the elbow. It affects other join ts also. The problem you have is restricted to elbow only. It is more likely to be due to bursitis. MRI scan of the elbow will help in confirmation of diagnosis.
I hope this answers your query.
