Is A Dark Patch On The Palm A Symptom Of Syphilis Rash?
Question: I have a dark patch on my palm wondering if it is a syphilis rash. It seems to be underneath the skin. Can you also get a syphilis Chancre in the mouth if i didnt give oral sex? I only received oral sex and had vaginal sex.
Brief Answer:
Not syphilis
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
Just relax its not syphilis.
It's just an allergic reaction.
Syphilis rash is seen in secondary syphilis which develops years after infection.
There is no chance to develop syphilis chancre in mouth of you had not done oral.
Direct contact is required for development of chancre.
Apply a mild steroid cream like cortisone twice daily for a week on the rash.
This should help you.
There is nothing to worry.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

Thanks for your swift reply. Just one final question, if i have a syphilis chancre in the mouth, is there any chance it will bleed if i accidentally hit it with a toothbrush? Im asking because there is a painful bump on my gums after i hit it with a toothbrush and im not sure if there was a bump there in the first place.
Brief Answer:
Not syphilis
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
Syphilis chancre is painless and usually located on lips.
Pain while hitting with tooth brush and location on gums that too when you didn't do oral sex is totally against the diagnosis being syphilis chancre.
Just relax .
You are totally safe.
It might be some gum problem .
