Is A Faint Line In A Pregnancy Test Kit Means Positive?
Question: Dear Sir,
My wife Start her period on 17th March 2016, She usually have (28 days Menstrual Cycle).
Now missed her period 4 days over and we take a Home Pregnancy Test today (18.04.2016) and its shows very faint line in the device.
Is this positive result? , or any chance of Ectopic Pregnancy.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
There is a very good chance of pregnancy in this case. However, I would suggest you to repeat test one more time to confirm it. If it is still not conclusive, it should be confirmed by getting a TVS (Trans vaginal sonogram).
TVS will confirm if there any gestational sac (suggestive of viable pregnancy) inside uterus and therefore can also rule out ectopic pregnancy.

HCG can be detected AFTER CONCEIVING (not after ovulation) as early as 8-9 days.
Faint line in home pregnancy test is not conclusive of anything. That is why I suggested you to repeat it. It is not possible to say anything for sure right now with this inconclusive report.
TVS is the only confirmatory test to detect or rule out pregnancy. Kindly get it done after repeating HPT.
