Is A Systolic Heart Rate Of 109 A Cause Of Concern?
Question: Hi, I want to know if I should be concerned about my heart rate, I just bought a home blood pressure and it shows the following Systolic - 109 / Diastolic 73 and my resting is heart rate 90 bpm. I'm starting the gym today and I'm afraid that it will get higher.
Brief Answer:
Normal resting blood pressure and heart rates
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your blood pressure report and it seems perfectly normal.
It is also normal for the bp and heart rate to get increased during physical activity like gym.
It is not normal if they would stay that high after 1 hour of stopping exercise.
Hope it was of help!

If this is normal than why would my GP want me to see a cardiologist if my blood pressure is normal and my heart rate is 81. She mentioned that the EKG says I Left atrial enlargement; negative precordial t-waves - probably normal but consider anteroseptal ischemia.
Brief Answer:

Your GP recommended you to see a cardiologist to exclude any problems or anomaly on your ECG. This has nothing to do with your BP or HR.
Please keep in mind that an abnormal ECG findings isn't necessary a disease. It should be checked carefully and correlated with other data by a cardiologist.
Can you upload the ECG so i can check it by myself?
Wish you health!

Brief Answer:
Following answer to your query...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
After reviewing the ECG I confirm that is normal. There's no signs of arrhythmias, or myocardial ischemia. Your ECG is borderline and you shouldn't worry about.
The only abnormality detected is the left atrium enlargement, but ECG isn't specific for the assessment of left atrium enlargement.
In order to relieve your concerns and to clear any doubtful though I recommend doing a cardiac ECHO.
Hope this was of help!
Wish you health!
