Brief Answer:
repeat the scan...to reconfirm..explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
Absent foetal nasal bone is not a good sign and presents with high chances of downs syndrome, but this is actually very rare. I am sure that a repeat scan shall be required as he may have missed it in a particular view. If still not seen then one has to get a amniocentesis done for karyotyping to rule out trisomy 21.

Hi sir, today we were going one more tiffa scan. Doctor said, fetal nasal bone slightly visible. Now my question is, one month ago(21weeks) it's not visible. Present(26weeks) it's visible. Further it's grownup? Or any thing wrong in previous tiffa scan. Thanking you.

Brief Answer:
it may be deficient nasal bone as still its not evidently completely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The first scan as i said was probably not done correctly, however if even on second scan if there has been deficient nasal bone then one does have to consider the possibility of downs syndrome. Though it is one of the soft marker and not 100 per cent reliable.
If the baby's overall growth is adequate then there is nothing which needs to be done.

Brief Answer:
Its fine if overall growth is fine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If the overall growth of the child is fine then there is no apparent need to be worried. I would have been happier if you would have uploaded the scanned ultrasound report and images for my review and then i would have bene a better position to comment.
