Is Alcohol Consumption Advisable While On Prednisone?

Question: Yesterday, my doctor prescribed a low dose of prednisone to help with my sore throat and to perhaps stop the onset of bronchitis. It was prednisone 20 mg, to be taken three tablets per day for five days, then stop (with no taper). I have taken six tablets counting today. I am concerned about having alcoholic drinks, this being New Year's Eve and all. Is it okay to have alcoholic drinks, and if so, what would you estimate "moderate" to be?

Alcohol and prednisone do not interact.

I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

Prednisone its not affected by use of alcohol.
You can use how much you want without problem, but of course try to not get drunk.
