Is Alcohol Consumption While On Atorvastatin Safe?

Question: is drinking alcohol while taking Atorvastatin okay?
I finished my pack on Friday and bowl today in a tournament.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.

There is no interaction between Atorvastatin and alcohol.
However one of the side effects of Atorvastatin is the inflammation of liver leading to elevation of liver enzymes. Alcohol is another cause for injury to the liver and elevation of liver enzymes.
So it is possible that there can be some dilemma if the liver enzymes become elevated.
