Is An HIV Test Conclusive 5 Months Post Exposure?
Question: Please help. About 6 months ago I recieved unprotected fellatio from someone I barely new. The person swallowed my semen in the process..I ask the person about their hiv status and she said it was negative..about at the 3 month mark I started getting real anxious and experience aches in my hands and fingers...it was getting annoying so I went to the doc and did blood work...it wasn't an hiv test but my doc said everything look normal...I haven't experienced any fevers rash sore throat...I took an oraquick test and it was negative...at 5 month mark close to 6 months I took another test. It was negative...I'm still getting aches in my hands and fingers...for the past two weeks I've been getting hot flashes. I'm I at risk of hiv?

Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Welcome to health care magic. I have gone through the details.
The chances of transmission of HIV is very rare by fellatio unless there are wounds in both the partners, in the area of contact. It is very unlikely.
So the risk is too low.
Oraquick test after 3 months is almost conclusive.
You are free from HIV.
If you are still worried you can go for antibodies test like Elisa to have conclusive results. A negative ELISA test should put your fears to rest.
You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you
