Brief Answer:
Bacterial vaginosis or gardnerella vaginitis is not STD

Detailed Answer:
HI Dear, Thanks for your query to HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concern.

BV or gardnerella vaginalis ( are the same), is not a sexually transmitted infection.
Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is a common entity and causes a vaginal discharge, often with a noticeable smell.

It is caused by an overgrowth of normal germs (bacteria) in the vagina.

Factors that increase your risk of getting bacterial vaginosis include:

Having more than one sex partner or having a new sex partner.
Smoking.
Douching.
Not using condoms.

If you have mild symptoms they will pass by itself.

If you have any further question please feel free to ask

Best Regards

Brief Answer:
IT CAUSES EXCESS DISCHARGE WITH FISHY ODOR

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear again!

Yes bacterial vaginosis can cause yellowish discharge with fishy odor but you should keep in mind that it can be due to other sources (eg. urine) too, because in most cases yellowish discharges are due to urinary infection.

Hence in my opinion, it's better to have a urinalysis done in that scenario.

Meanwhile drink cranberry tea and much more water to remain well hydrated.

Feel free to ask further in case of any doubts

Best Regards

Hi dear again!

I have seen your reports and it show that you are positive for bacterial vaginosis and not for sexually transmitted diseases.

Hence if you have issue take a proper treatment such as metronidazole cream or gel for a course of five to seven days.
