Is Burning Sensation In Right Pelvic Area A Symptom Of Inguinal Hernia?

Question: I have developed suddenly, a painful burning sensation in my right pelvic area, just to the right of the top of my pubic hair. It is relieved when I sit or lie down. My wife has had a stroke and I help her lift for transfers from her wheelchair to toilet, bed etc. Her left side is paralyzed. I am wondering if I now have a hernia? If not, what is this? Really painful!!
Brief Answer:
Inguinal hernia seems most probable.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
As you describe it as a pain to the right of the top of pubic hair, inguinal hernia is most probable.
If the pain were lower (in the area when the thigh meets the scrotum), I would say that its stretched muscle.
Burning is a common sign of hernia. And it usually appears after lifting heavy objects. There can be no lump visible.
I suggest you to have an ultrasound of the groin done. This will help in diagnosing the hernia.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
