Is Change In Dosage Of Lithosun Advisable When Treating Psychiatric Problem?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
lithosun and olap are very essential.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concerns.
From the medications what you have listed, I think she would have been diagnosed with bipolar mood disorder.
The most essential drugs in these are lithosun and olap.
Telmikind contains telmisartan which is antihypertensive. If she is having high BP, she has to take it.
Glycomet is metformin. This will prevent drug induced weight gain.
Lopam is for sleep and anxiety. It can be gradually reduced once her sleep is normal and there is no anxiety.
Lithosun is a mood stabiliser and olap (olanzapine most probably) is an antipsychotic. These two are essential for bipolar disorder.
Fefol and folvite are iron and folic acid supplements. If her hemoglobin levels are normal, I think these can be discontinued.
Zigma is carbamazepine. It also acts as mood stabiliser. Can be reduced depending on symptoms.
However, I would like to tell you that the drugs can be reduced/changed depending only on the symptoms.
If possible, kindly tell me the details of her illness and diagnosis. This will help me to decide what drugs should be continued and what drugs can be stopped.
Hope this answers your query satisfactorily.
Thanks.
