Is Chloraseptic Containing Benzocaine Safe To Take With Kidney Problem?
Question: I have moderate chronic renal insufficiency. It is very close to being designated severe. Would chloraseptic containing benzocaine (taken for a cough and sore throat) be problematic for my kidney.
Brief Answer:
Yes it is safe.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for using Healthace Magic.
Chloraseptic will be safe for you to use providing you use it according to the manufacturer's instructions. The amount of benzocaine absorbed into the bloodstream will be small and therefore not a problem for the kidneys. Paracetamol is also safe for your sore throat. Avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen.
I hope this is of help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
