Is Cold Intolerance A Symptom Of Hypothyroidism?
Question: Time to look for new doctor, I'm thinking maybe Endrolgonistist, with all my thyroid problems, high blood pressure & ESRD instead of a general practitioner...???
Your feedback very welcome, please??
Isn't being very cold a sign my thyroid is off???

Brief Answer:
Happy to help
Detailed Answer:
Good day.
I am an endocrinologist and very happy to help you.
Yes you are right. An endocrinologist is the best person to advice you regarding thyroid problems. Hypothyroidism can manifest with numerous clinical problems and cold intolerance is one of those symptoms. However this is not specific or exclusive symptom of hypothyroidism alone.
Have you had a thyroid blood test recently?

I'm going to request one, as I'm so tired & depleted after hemodylisis & my blood pressure has dropped to 92/52...in addition, it might be a diabetic problem, I was given 2 cookies & water to help me stop passing out as well as saline. ????
I'm not sure a general practitioner is my choice
How about an INTERNIST???

Yes, Iternost can help you
Detailed Answer:
So sorry to hear about your problems. Yes, an internist would be able to help you if endocrinologist is not easily available. It would be great if you could share the thyroid blood results.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, Endocrinologist would be the first choice. He may be able to give medicines for hypertension and thyroid issues. But for ESRD, he may not be able to do much. What is your latest creatinine and GFR
Your TSH is 75 which is quite high. You need Thyroxine for treating this. Please meet an endocrinologist for a prescription.

What does high mean, I'm exhausted...
Why do I get tired after after eating??? Diabetic too???
Why do I get tired after after eating??? Diabetic too???
Brief Answer:
Hypothyroidism.
Detailed Answer:
TSH of 75 is high which means that you have hypothyroidism ( underactive thyroid and low thyroid hormone levels) .Your exhaustion may be related to hypothyroidism. Only thyroid function tests are provided and hence I can not comment on diabetes. May I request you to get a prescription for thyroxine ( medicine used to treat hypothyroidism) from a doctor. At the age of 66 and with your medical history, it is better to start with a small dose. I typically start with a small dose of 25 microgram daily and gradually increase the dose every week . The dose is calculated based on the body weight.
