Is Cold Sore At 11 Weeks Post Exposure A Sign Of HIV?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Yes further tests required.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
At 7 th week post exposure a PCR test is more sensitive. A 4 th generation ELISA test can be said conclusive only after 12 weeks. But according to international norms one more test at 6 months is advised to find late responders such as immunocompromized individuals by antibodies based ELISA test. So yes though chances are almost nil in your case but you must take 2 more tests at 3,6 months. A cold sore is more likely to be a common viral infection which usually subside on its own in a week requiring no treatment.
Take care

No test required except at 6 months
Detailed Answer:
Hi
If you have got ELISA test done at 77 days then I would not suggest you further tests except one more at 6 months. It is likely that you are 99.99% negative for HIV.
Take care
Best of health
