Is Cortisol Level Of 37 A Cause For Concern?
Question: my 19 year old son had a blood test done that showed a low cortisol level of 37 wondering if you can tell me the normal range and also they did perform an ACTH test so they will be starting a medication training session with us today what meds can we expect our son to be on

*Normal cortisole range varies during the day but it should not exceed 23 and if does, then we talk about hypercortisolism or Cushing syndrome. It can be caused by increased cortisol production in adrenal glanftor by. Increased production of ACTH in hypophysis. So he should get done ACTH level and depending on it, treatment may be planned.
Iit may be done with medications or by surgery if there is adenoma.
