Question: I got lab results back and shows my creatnin kinase levels are at 289,is that number a cause for concern?

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Creatine kinase is an enzyme which is contained my muscles. Elevation of creatine kinase indicates muscle damage. Usually it is measured in case of suspected heart attack although it could be measured for other suspected sources of muscle damage as well. The level in your case is slightly elevated. I would therefore need to ask you what made you visit the doctor and get the test done. I would be glad if you elaborate upon the complaints. Based on that I would be able to suggest if there seems to be a reason for concern.
