Question: how much do blood creatine levels vary in a healthy person depending on hydration, exercise, etc...?
I have had a back injury for over 10 years and have to take meds.
My back pain has caused my to be overly concerned about my kidneys for years.
Over the last 5 years ive requested bloodwork ups 2 times per year.
My creatine tests have been between 1.03 to 1.1 and my doctors always tell me my kidneys are fine.
On my last visit i was again concerned but my GP said that i was being checked more frequently than neccesary and reminded me i had an abdominal CT a little over a year ago that showed nothing abnormal in my kidneys. My last urinalysis was done about 6-7 months ago and it was normal as well.
He told me i dont need to test this often and is somewhat reluctant to keep ordering bloodwork.

Im 43, i take a PPI for reflux daily, vicodin for pain(never exceed more than 1000 mg of acetaminophen daily). I also take gabapentin.
Im just still concerned though my docs tell me all is ok.

My specific concern was analgesic neptopathy, which he said is almost unseen because they removed the meds that caused it.
This is why any fluctuation in my creatine worried me.
If something like that did land on me my goal would be to know quickly.
Im guessing this is why after 10 years on my meds, the CT didnt show anything, so to him there is no reason to even look other than a normal anual checkup.
How much can blood creatine levels fluctuate in healthy individuals?

I wasnt aware it varied much.
I guess its just like my ignorance of the adominal CT.
I wasnt aware an abdominal CT would show kidney damage as well as other organs.
When he ordered CT i was wondering why the whole abdomen?
He later informed me that todays CT's are pretty impressive. He said an abdominal CT looks at the entire abdomen so its not limited to just the kidneys should something else be wrong somewhere else.
Maybe my doctor is indeed being vigilant.
